The Top LA Breast Reconstruction Center Gives This Advice to Women

February 6, 2019 //  by Sophia//  Leave a Comment

In the United States in 2019 there will be hundreds of thousands of women who will find a lump in their breasts and go to the doctor to have it professionally examined by a doctor. Many of these women will hear that the lump is only a benign growth that will not cause them any problems, but others will find that they have breast cancer and need to have one or more procedures performed.

Medical science works diligently on both cures and treatments for breast cancer and there have been major advancements made over the past 20 years in both areas but mainly for treatment options. For those women who get detection early and follow the plans laid out by a good doctor the prognosis is good for many of them to get cured.

Treatment will mean some type of surgery to remove the cancerous lump or lumps in the breast and this will mean either a partial or full mastectomy.

For women who undergo this procedure it is both draining physically and demanding as a woman for one of the things that defines womanhood, the breast, to be removed. Women must prepare themselves for the long road to recovery both physically and mentally and understand that it is a process.

Most women will opt for some sort of breast reconstruction surgery that will be performed in conjunction with mastectomy surgery or after. the top LA breast reconstruction center gives this advice to women War scheduled to undergo breast reconstruction surgery

Follow Your Doctor’s Orders

Your doctor is a professional who understands every element of your diagnosis and the reconstruction procedure.  It may be difficult to hear some of the things you are being told about your surgery and recovery but everything he or she is telling you is relevant and accurate.  You must be comfortable with the fact that they have your best interest at heart and understand exactly what you need to do in order to get through the surgery and recover as quickly as possible. So follow the advice closely and do not deviate how many of the things that they tell you.

Rest Before Your Procedure

Your surgery will be demanding and very tough on your body. It will require lots of energy that you will only have to rest before your surgery. Not schedule anything strenuous and stressful in the days leading up to your surgery and make sure that you get a good 8 hours sleep every night. Remember your recovery time will be weeks and perhaps even longer. Get the rest that you need before your surgery.

Stay Positive

It has been shown that your attitude can contribute greatly to how you heal after surgery. For this reason you need to have a very positive attitude going into and coming out of your breast reconstruction surgery. This will be difficult at times because you will be in pain, feel depressed, and  are unsure about your future oh, but it is very important that you do all you can to maintain a positive attitude. One important thing to do is surround yourself with people who are loving and supportive of your recovery. Lean on them for their strength and great attitude and you will be fine.
